Some songs from the days when I went by the name Vin Landers, among others.
Back then it’s fair to say I sang more regularly - not necessarily in public, but if I felt strongly enough about something I might feel inclined to put it in song form & hit record. Often I just hit record anyway and whatever happens, happens.
These pieces - all songs, bar one instrumental intro - were made in my mid to late twenties, around the time I became a Dad. I was then - as I remain now - something of a softie, so many of these are unashamedly sentimental, expressing deep love for my family unit, along with the standard oblique musical philosophising.
These pieces mean a great deal to me, and I enjoy listening to them still - but they have often felt too personal or unfinished and demo like to share. I do this now, however, because - with a little eq tweak and some mastering - I think I’ve managed to get them more presentable for the wider world, despite whatever flaws I might imagine they have.
I feel it’s time they were heard by some other people besides those immediate friends & family who had the odd CDR with some of these tracks on handed to them at the time.
I do hope you enjoy these and can relate to some of whatever it is I was singing about back then.
